Basketball Game Preview: St. Brendan Sabres vs. Suncoast Chargers

The St. Brendan Sabres will square off against the Suncoast Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in St. Brendan's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten games.

St. Brendan heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Friday. They took an 89-73 bruising from Northwestern. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (61), the Sabres still had to take the loss.

St. Brendan might have lost, but man, Jonas Duque was a machine: he went 10 for 21 en route to 30 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Duque a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Benny Fragela, who posted 22 points.

Meanwhile, Suncoast came up short against Stranahan on Friday and fell 67-54. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Mighty Dragons are ranked 33rd).

St. Brendan's record now sits at 18-8. As for Suncoast, their record is now 18-6.
