Recap: Harrells Christian Academy Crusaders vs. Halifax Academy Vikings
The Harrells Christian Academy Crusaders had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with a 50-41 victory over Halifax Academy. This was payback for Harrells Christian Academy, who suffered a 38-32 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Halifax Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Karson Ricks, who scored 12 points along with five assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Hayden Barlow, who scored eight points along with five assists and four steals.
Harrells Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Halifax Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.
Harrells Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 74-33 loss vs. Rocky Mount Academy on the 10th. Halifax Academy will head out on the road to take on Pungo Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Halifax Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 38 on Friday.
