Recap: Banks Academy Jets vs. North River Christian Chargers
The Banks Academy Jets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by North River Christian at home and fell 60-8. Banks Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-5.
North River Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alayna Fuller, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Fuller pulled down eight or more rebounds. Emma Champion was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Banks Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for North River Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Banks Academy will take on Bessemer Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Bessemer Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Tuesday. North River Christian will be home for the holidays to greet Heritage Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
