Carson Merritt posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Tuesday. As a matter of fact, he produced his best game of the campaign: he struck out ten batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

Merritt's strong effort led Hudsonville over Grandville and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
