Basketball Recap: Bakersfield's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a good run, but Bakersfield unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 72-60 to the Bakersfield Christian Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Drillers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-58 back in January.

Bakersfield lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kade Johnson, who went 10 for 23 on his way to 27 points. Johnson's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kamren Owens, who posted nine points and three steals.

Bakersfield's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-9. As for Bakersfield Christian, they pushed their record up to 20-7 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Bakersfield and Bakersfield Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Bakersfield (ranked 206th) will meet Ridgeview (ranked 686th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Bakersfield Christian will face off against Independence at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday up 386 places (124 vs. 510).
