Softball Recap: Belleview's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Ten

Belleview came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the West Port Wolf Pack by a score of 5-0. That's more bragging rights for the Rattlers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not much got past Ya'Mari Reynolds, who gave up just three hits and racked up 16 Ks to keep West Port off the board. Reynolds has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mackenzie Quartararo, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiera Evans, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Belleview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Port only posted a batting average of .120.

Belleview's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for West Port, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Belleview has already played their next game, a 5-1 loss against Gainesville on the 29th. As for West Port, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 10-6 defeat against Spruce Creek on the 28th.
