Soccer Game Preview: Lafayette vs. York

The Lafayette Rams will take on the York Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

York will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Lafayette extended their winning streak to five last Thursday. Everything went the Rams' way against Poquoson as they made off with a 6-1 victory. Lafayette might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but York had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Mighty Bookers an 8-0 shutout. York's offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

York's win bumped their record up to 7-9-2. As for Lafayette, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5-2.

Lafayette skirted past York 1-0 in their previous meeting back in April. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
