Baseball Recap: East Grand Rapids Plays to a Tie

Mt. Pleasant hit East Grand Rapids with a four-run fourth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 7-7 tie. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time the Pioneers have been dealt a draw since back in March.

East Grand Rapids' tie gives them a new season record of 20-7-2. Meanwhile, Mt. Pleasant's record is now 9-9-1.

Looking ahead, East Grand Rapids will challenge Lowell at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pioneers 3.3, the Red Arrows 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Mt. Pleasant, they will face off against Mattawan at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
