Softball Recap: Lake Buena Vista Wins Going Away Against Celebration

Lake Buena Vista's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on the Celebration Storm with a sharp 15-0 victory. Considering the Vipers have won nine matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Allison Curtis made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Lake Buena Vista got a big performance out of Aiza Khan, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits Khan has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Tatiana Navarro, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Lake Buena Vista always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. They are 10-2 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Lake Buena Vista's record is now 10-12. As for Celebration, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-12.

Coming up, Lake Buena Vista will head out to challenge Jones at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fightin' Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.92 runs per game on average), something the Vipers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Celebration, they will be playing at home against Edgewater at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
