Basketball Recap: Eagle Grove Takes a Loss

Eagle Grove lost against Bishop Garrigan on January 9th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagle Grove Eagles came up short against the Bishop Garrigan Golden Bears, falling 57-36. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 199th, while the Golden Bears are ranked 33rd).

Eagle Grove has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Bishop Garrigan, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

Eagle Grove will face off against Lake Mills at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop Garrigan, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Garner-Hayfield/Ventura at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Bishop Garrigan's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 matches.
