Basketball Recap: Pierson Takes a Loss

If Pierson was riding high fresh off their 80-33 takedown of Our Savior New American last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Whalers lost to the Southold Settlers at home by a 61-45 margin on Tuesday. The matchup marked the Whalers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Pierson's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Southold, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-4.

Coincidentally, Pierson and Southold will both be playing Greenport the next time they take the court. The Whalers will head out to face the Porters at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Settlers will head out to face them at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
