Basketball Game Preview: Redwood Valley Cardinals vs. Luverne Cardinals

The Redwood Valley Cardinals are taking a road trip to challenge the Luverne Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Redwood Valley will be strutting in after a victory while Luverne will be coming in after a loss.

Last Friday, Redwood Valley didn't have too much trouble with Minnesota Valley Lutheran as they won 71-56. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Chargers are ranked 236th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Luverne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against Colman-Egan, falling 71-39.

Redwood Valley's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Luverne, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.

Everything came up roses for Redwood Valley against Luverne in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 60-33 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Redwood Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
