Preview: Valley Vikings vs. Weld Central Rebels
The Valley Vikings will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Weld Central Rebels at 11:30 a.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Valley's game on Thursday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They suffered a rough 54-34 loss at the hands of University. While losing is never fun, Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 197th, while University is ranked 36th).
Meanwhile, Weld Central's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 55-18 defeat at the hands of Eaton. Weld Central has not had much luck with Eaton recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Weld Central, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-15.
Valley beat Weld Central 38-26 when the teams last played back in January. Does Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Weld Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
