Basketball Recap: Willamina Comes Up Short

Willamina was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the Jefferson Lions and fell 66-36. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Lions are ranked 30th).

Willamina's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Jefferson, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Willamina has already played their next game (against Dayton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Jefferson Lions take on the Taft Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th.
