Football Game Preview: Dyer County Choctaws vs. University School of Jackson Bruins + How To Watch

After each having a week off, the Dyer County Choctaws and the University School of Jackson Bruins will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Dyer County will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any points back in September, then bounced right back against Chester County last Friday. The Choctaws blew past the Eagles, posting a 42-10 victory. The Choctaws haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Keanthony Barbee continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 222 yards and four scores while picking up 13.1 yards per carry.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Dyer County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 266 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Meanwhile, University School of Jackson was fully in charge last Friday, breezing past Memphis East 49-6. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-6.

Dyer County better keep an eye on Jackson Pugh. He was instrumental in University School of Jackson's win, rushing for 60 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries, while also picking up 44 receiving yards and one touchdown.

University School of Jackson's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Dyer County, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
