Basketball Game Preview: Northeast Vernon County Knights vs. Jefferson Independent Day Cavaliers

The Northeast Vernon County Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Jefferson Independent Day Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Northeast Vernon County saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 35-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jefferson Independent Day.

Jefferson Independent Day found their leader in freshman Anna Hiebert, who went 7 of 15 en route to 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Kiera Onyango, who posted ten points.

Jefferson Independent Day was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Jefferson Independent Day's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-12. As for Northeast Vernon County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
