Football Recap: Riverdale Piles Up the Points Against Mercer County

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rockridge, Riverdale was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They claimed a resounding 43-8 win over the Mercer County Golden Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won three contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

Among those leading the charge was Gaege Heinsen, who rushed for 54 yards and two scores.

Riverdale's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Mercer County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverdale will welcome Orion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will be up against the Chargers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.25 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Mercer County, they will host Erie-Prophetstown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
