Softball Game Preview: Paris Wildcats vs. Sulphur Springs Wildcats

Paris is 0-6 against Sulphur Springs since March of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. Paris has given up an average of 19.9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Paris is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 28th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They came up short against Bonham, falling 21-1.

Paris saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lydia Moore, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That hit marked the first that Moore got this season.

Meanwhile, Sulphur Springs didn't have quite enough to beat New Diana on Monday and fell 2-1.

Sulphur Springs has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-4 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.67 runs. Paris' loss dropped their record down to 0-10.

Paris suffered a grim 17-0 defeat to Sulphur Springs when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Paris avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
