Maine-Endwell and Vestal are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Spartans will take on the Golden Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Maine-Endwell has ten straight wins, Vestal has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Maine-Endwell's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Athens by a score of 2-0. Given Maine-Endwell's advantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 27th in New York, while Athens are ranked 126th in Pennsylvania) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Vestal came up short against Elmira on Tuesday, falling 4-1. That's two games in a row now that Vestal have lost by exactly three goals.

Vestal's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Maine-Endwell, their victory bumped their record up to 10-0-1.

Everything went Maine-Endwell's way against Vestal when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Maine-Endwell made off with a 4-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
