Soccer Game Preview: Orange vs. Cedar Ridge + How To Watch

The Orange Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Orange is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Seaforth just ended the team's six-match winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Orange came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 118th, while Seaforth are ranked 281st).

Orange's goal came courtesy of Dallas Johnson, who's now up to four this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cedar Ridge). They put the hurt on South Granville with a sharp 6-3 victory on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for Cedar Ridge.

Cedar Ridge now has a winning record of 6-5-1. As for Orange, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 10-5.

Orange beat Cedar Ridge 2-0 when the teams last played back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
