Albemarle had lost four straight headed into Friday's contest, but Aj Butler didn't let it get to five. The Bulldogs simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy Eagles 41-14 for which the team can thank Butler, who rushed for 161 yards and two TDs on only 14 carries. He is becoming a predictor of Albemarle's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 0-4 when he doesn't).

Albemarle's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-4. As for Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Albemarle is set to square off against their familiar foe Union Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy will face off against rival Mountain Island Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
