Basketball Recap: Brenden Lacroix's Big Game Can't Quite Lead South Charlotte over Metrolina Christian Academy

After flying high against Chatham HomeSchool on Saturday, South Charlotte came back down to earth. The Thunder fell 67-58 to the Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Thunder in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost six in a row.

South Charlotte lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brenden LaCroix, who posted 12 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kristoffer Lang Jr., who scored six points and six boards.

Leading Metrolina Christian Academy to victory were Rickey Torrence and Malachi Wilson. Torrence shot 50% from the field to rack up 23 points, while Wilson went 7-for-9 on his way to 16 points and seven assists. Those seven assists gave Wilson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Whitehurst, who earned nine points.

South Charlotte's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

South Charlotte wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 78-58 victory against Forsyth Home Educators on the 14th. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-59 win against Charlotte Country Day School on the 13th.
