Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends St. Cecilia's Winning Streak

St. Cecilia lost against Bishop Neumann back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bluehawks fell 2-0 to the Cavaliers. The Bluehawks' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Payton Sullivan paced St. Cecilia's offense, picking up eight kills. Sullivan got some help from Kathryn Vanskiver and her 18 assists.

Bishop Neumann found their leader in freshman Madison Wiese, who had six digs and two aces.

St. Cecilia's defeat dropped their record down to 20-9. As for Bishop Neumann, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. St. Cecilia will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Scotus at 7:00 p.m. on the 21st. As for Bishop Neumann, they will challenge Norfolk/Norfolk Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
