Softball Recap: East Bay Takes a Loss

East Bay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Alonso Ravens. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Ravens apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Karsen Nelson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Molly Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Kamiira Austin was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one double.

East Bay's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Alonso, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

As of now, neither East Bay nor the Ravens have any future games scheduled.
