Football Recap: Brett Strum's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Flowery Branch over North Oconee + How To Watch

After flying high against Walnut Grove last Friday, Flowery Branch came back down to earth. The Falcons took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Oconee Titans on Friday. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Titans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brett Strum, who threw for 206 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 41 yards.

Flowery Branch suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 6-3. As for North Oconee, their record is now 9-0.

Flowery Branch and North Oconee should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Falcons will take on Cedar Shoals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (81 vs. 294). Meanwhile, North Oconee (ranked 14th) will meet Walnut Grove (ranked 200th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
