Basketball Game Preview: Ashe County Huskies vs. Hibriten Panthers

The Ashe County Huskies will challenge the Hibriten Panthers at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Ashe County is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Alexander Central on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Ashe County took a blow against Alexander Central, falling 69-32. The game marked the Huskies' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Hibriten was beaten by Freedom 89-50 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 557th, while the Patriots are ranked 92nd).

Ashe County's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Hibriten, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-12.
