Football Recap: Kingston Comes Up Short at Home Against Nyack

Kingston unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They and the Nyack Red Hawks were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Tigers suffered a 20-19 defeat. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Kingston lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Elijah Johnson, who rushed for 102 yards and one TD. Cole Thorpe was another key player, picking up 113 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Nyack's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Devin Bierfeldt, who threw for 122 yards and one TD, and also punched in one score on the ground.

Kingston didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-28 defeat against Goshen Central on the 12th. As for Nyack, they have also already played their next game, a 34-20 loss against Brewster on the 12th.
