After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gross Catholic, Bennington was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Hastings Tigers 9-8. The Badgers haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Max Swoboda looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Bennington got a big performance out of Brendon Da Luz, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Da Luz has launched this season. Brett Langan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.
Bennington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hastings only posted a batting average of .280.
