Flag Football Game Preview: Whitney Wildcats vs. Folsom Bulldogs + Official Tickets

The Whitney Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Folsom Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Whitney's defense has only allowed 9.4 points per game this season, so Folsom's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Whitney will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 13 points on Thursday, then bounced right back against Davis Sr. on Tuesday. The Wildcats blew past the Blue Devils, posting a 39-6 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won nine contests by more than 19 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Whitney didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Sofia Rosas led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. She has been hot recently, having also posted six or more total tackles the last three times she's played. She got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Folsom was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 32nd straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 56-13 defeat at the hands of Rocklin. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 599th, while the Thunder are ranked 186th).

Whitney is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.6 points on average over those games. As for Folsom, their loss dropped their record down to 0-18.

Everything came up roses for Whitney against Folsom in their previous matchup back in September, as the team secured a 54-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
