Baseball Recap: Sequoia Gets the Win

While Sequoia's victory against Westmont wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Sequoia won by a run and slipped past Westmont 8-7. The Ravens have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors on Friday, too.

Sequoia's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Winfield, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Drew Ostrander was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Sequoia now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Westmont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6-1.

Looking ahead, Sequoia will take on Mountain View at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Mountain View's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Sequoia's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Westmont, they will challenge Leigh at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Westmont's pitchers better be ready for this one: Leigh has averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
