Football Game Preview: Steele Knights vs. Johnson Jaguars + How To Watch

The Steele Knights will take on the Johnson Jaguars at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Steele sitting on eight straight wins and Johnson on 12.

Steele is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 45-14 victory over Weslaco. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won nine contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

DJ Green had an outrageously good game as he threw for 222 yards and three TDs on only 18 passes. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played. Jamin Harvell was another key player, picking up 103 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Johnson strolled past Hutto with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 56-37.

The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Elvis Estrada and Kaden Stefek. Estrada had a great game and threw for 112 yards and three TDs on only eight passes. Meanwhile, Stefek was balling out in the loss, throwing for 245 yards and one touchdown, while also punching in one score on the ground.

Johnson's win bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Steele, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.

Steele strolled past Johnson in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 by a score of 34-17. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Jaguars' Ty Hawkins, who threw for 258 yards and one TD, and also rushed for 68 yards.
