Football Game Preview: West Catholic Burrs vs. Lansdale Catholic Crusaders

The West Catholic Burrs will head out to face off against the Lansdale Catholic Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (West Catholic 10.8, Lansdale Catholic 10.8) so any points scored will be well earned.

West Catholic had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 22-point drubbing they dealt Chichester on Friday. The Burrs blew past the Eagles 28-6.

Meanwhile, Lansdale Catholic hadn't done well against Neumann-Goretti recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Crusaders' defense stepped up to hand the Saints a 21-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won three games by 21 points or more so far this season.

The win (which was Lansdale Catholic's third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.0 points on average over those games. As for West Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

West Catholic couldn't quite finish off Lansdale Catholic when the teams last played back in October of 2024 and fell 22-20. Can the Burrs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
