Effingham County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Camden County Wildcats 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rebels have posted since September 17, 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Effingham County got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 21-25, 15-9.

Coincidentally, Effingham County and Camden County will both be playing Islands the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will head out to face the Sharks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Rebels will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
