Soccer Game Preview: May River vs. Hilton Head Island

The May River Sharks will challenge the Hilton Head Island Seahawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

May River is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Carolina's top teams: Oceanside Collegiate Academy, who was ranked sixth at the time (May River was ranked 12th). The Sharks fell 2-0 to the Landsharks on Tuesday. May River have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Meanwhile, Hilton Head Island was not the first on the board two weeks ago, but they got there more often. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Parkview 2-1.

Hilton Head Island's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for May River, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.

May River was able to grind out a solid win over Hilton Head Island when the teams last played back in March, winning 3-1. Will the Sharks repeat their success, or do the Seahawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
