Basketball Game Preview: Batavia Bulldogs vs. Peoria Notre Dame Irish

The Batavia Bulldogs will take on the Peoria Notre Dame Irish at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Batavia is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Lake Park just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 47-34 to the Lancers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bulldogs came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Lancers are ranked 179th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kaidyn King, who posted ten points. Samantha Jansey was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Peoria Notre Dame on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Bloomington out of the water with a 58-28 final score. The Irish have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Peoria Notre Dame is also on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Batavia, their loss dropped their record down to 16-7.
