Soccer Game Preview: Wilmington vs. Beecher

The Wilmington Wildcats will challenge the Beecher Bobcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Wilmington is leaving town to face Beecher after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Wilmington came up short against Kankakee on Tuesday, falling 8-4. Wilmington were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 4-1.

Alaina Clark and Addison Van Duyne scored all four of Wilmington's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Meanwhile, Beecher managed to keep up with Reed-Custer until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Beecher lost 6-3 to Reed-Custer. Beecher have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wilmington suffered a grim 6-1 defeat to Beecher in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can Wilmington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
