Basketball Game Preview: Wellington Wolverines vs. Inlet Grove Hurricanes

The Wellington Wolverines just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Inlet Grove Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wellington will be strutting in after a win while Inlet Grove will be coming in after a loss.

Wellington's tournament run continued when they took on Dr. Joaquin Garcia on Monday. Wellington secured a 45-39 W over Dr. Joaquin Garcia. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 254th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Inlet Grove has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were beaten by Atlantic Christian 59-23 on Saturday. The matchup marked the Hurricanes' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Wellington and bumps their season record up to 15-4. As for Inlet Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-5.

Everything came up roses for Wellington against Inlet Grove when the teams last played back in January of 2020, as the squad secured a 79-47 win. Will Wellington repeat their success, or does Inlet Grove have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
