Basketball Recap: Cole Hanggi's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wayland-Cohocton over Perry

Wayland-Cohocton was the 75-49 winner over Perry when they last played one another back in March of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Wayland-Cohocton Eagles fell 59-48 to the Perry Yellowjackets on Tuesday.

Wayland-Cohocton's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cole Hanggi, who posted 14 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Charles Mulford, who had six points in addition to 12 rebounds and four steals.

Even though they lost, Wayland-Cohocton was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Wayland-Cohocton dropped their record down to 7-12 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Perry, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.

Coming up, Wayland-Cohocton will host Honeoye at 12:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Perry, they are taking a road trip to face off against Keshequa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
