Volleyball Recap: Lakeside Lutheran Takes a Loss

Lakeside Lutheran extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 5-10. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Bend East Suns. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Suns apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

Brianna Dahlie paced Lakeside Lutheran's offense, picking up 12 kills. Dahlie got some help from Grace Hoppenrath and her 12 assists. Ivy Buchholz controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

As for West Bend East, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since October 17, 2024.

Sami Weber was the offensive standout of the game as she had 14 digs and five assists. That's the most assists she has posted over her last 11 matchups. Lydia Hoier also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeside Lutheran will challenge Lodi at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Bend East, they will face off against Kewaskum at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
