Preview: Owensboro Red Devils vs. Christian County Colonels
The Owensboro Red Devils's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Christian County Colonels at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 84-47, which was the final score in Owensboro's tilt against Evansville Harrison on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Owensboro has scored all season.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 87-46, which was the final score in Christian County's tilt against Evangel Christian on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Christian County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while Evangel Christian is ranked tenth).
Owensboro's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Christian County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.
Owensboro skirted past Christian County 59-56 when the teams last played back in December of 2019. The rematch might be a little tougher for Owensboro since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
