Softball Recap: West Field Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

The West Field Longhorns were able to grind out a solid win over the Sky View Bobcats on Tuesday, taking the game 9-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Longhorns.

Ella Doxey was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addi Gibson, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double.

West Field's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Sky View, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Coming up, West Field will square off against Herriman at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Longhorns' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Sky View, they will take on Bear River at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
