Football Recap: Magnolia Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Magnolia's offense. They had to suffer through a 35-0 loss at the hands of the Katella Knights. The Sentinels haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Angel Garcia had a dynamite game For Katella., picking up 64 receiving yards and two TDs, while also rushing for 77 yards and one score. Those 77 rushing yards gave Garcia a new career-high. Randy Ruiz was another key back, rushing for 90 yards and one touchdown.

Magnolia's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Katella, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Magnolia will welcome Whittier at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals' defense has only allowed 13.2 points per game this season, so the Sentinels' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Katella, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Godinez Fundamental at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
