Basketball Recap: Watts Takes a Loss

Watts was the 55-50 winner over Welch when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Watts Engineers were beaten by the Welch Wildcats 69-28 on Tuesday. The Engineers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Watts' loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Welch, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Watts will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cave Springs at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th. As for Welch, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Welch Wildcats challenge the Commerce Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Welch is facing Commerce at the right time seeing as Commerce is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
