Softball Recap: Deer Park's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to 12

Deer Park made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Riverside, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Stags were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Rams on Tuesday. Considering the Stags have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Hailey Thompson spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lucy Lathrop was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Sammy Fausti, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Deer Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Riverside only posted an OBP of .407.

The victory keeps Deer Park at an undefeated 12-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average this season. As for Riverside, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
