Softball Game Preview: Lehman Lobos vs. Lockhart Lions

The Lehman Lobos will head out on the road to challenge the Lockhart Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lehman has given up an average of 6.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lehman fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Hays on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 13-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Lobos have suffered since March 2, 2024.

Gabriella Gabriel was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sophia Adame, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.

Meanwhile, Lockhart lost 13-2 to Rouse on Wednesday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lockhart saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Presli Moebes, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Moebes' first of the season.

Lockhart's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Lehman, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11-1 record this season.

Lehman skirted past Lockhart 7-5 when the teams last played back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lehman since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
