Basketball Recap: Eastside Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Eastside had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They enjoyed a cozy 54-40 win over the Collingswood Panthers on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Eastside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyrone Washam, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 15 points in addition to six assists and five steals. Those 15 points gave Washam a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Balewa Scott Jr., who went 5 of 7 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds.

Eastside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-67 defeat against Conrad Science on the 14th. As for Collingswood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-44 loss against King's Christian on the 12th.
