Softball Recap: Edison Drops Highest Score of Season Against Piscataway

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Edison). They never let the Piscataway Chiefs get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Chiefs: they've now won six in a row.

Jenna Fugate and Callie DiBisceglie were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Fugate tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, DiBisceglie pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Fugate has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. At the plate, Fugate went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while DiBisceglie got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Edison got a massive performance out of Casey Della Fave, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was K Harkins, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Edison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Piscataway only posted an OBP of .222.

Edison's record is now 9-1. As for Piscataway, they dropped their record down to 0-10 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
