Volleyball Game Preview: Upsala Cardinals vs. Mille Lacs co-op [Isle/Onamia] Huskies

After both having extra time off, the Upsala Cardinals and the Mille Lacs co-op [Isle/Onamia] Huskies will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Upsala will bounce into Wednesday's match after beating Bertha-Hewitt, who they had gone 0-8 against in their eight prior meetings. The Cardinals walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Bears on Thursday.

Upsala never let Bertha-Hewitt on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-23.

Upsala can attribute much of their success to Alexa Pilarski, who had ten digs.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Thursday Mille Lacs co-op [Isle/Onamia] sidestepped Upsala for a 2-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Huskies.

Mille Lacs co-op [Isle/Onamia] had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-17, 18-16.

Mille Lacs co-op [Isle/Onamia]'s victory bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Upsala, their win bumped their record up to 9-17.
