Basketball Recap: Ridgeland Triumphs

On Tuesday, Ridgeland didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Green Sea Floyds Trojans, but they still walked away with a 46-40 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Ridgeland.

Green Sea Floyds' defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shantavia Hilliard, who went 5-for-10 en route to 13 points and five rebounds. Hilliard is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Tanisha Myers, who dropped a double-double with 17 boards and 13 blocks.

Ridgeland's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Green Sea Floyds, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

Looking ahead, Ridgeland will venture away from home to challenge Latta at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Latta is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Ridgeland a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Green Sea Floyds does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
