Football Recap: Rancho Dominguez Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Rancho Dominguez kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were beaten by the Compton Tarbabes 41-0. The Lobos lost against the Tarbabes in their previous head to head back in August of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 35-22 score last time.

Nate Willard was nothing short of spectacular for Compton: he rushed for 178 yards and three scores while picking up 11.1 yards per carry. Willard was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards. Trevon Fair was another key player, rushing for 74 yards and a pair of TDs.

Coming up, Rancho Dominguez will head out to face off against Contreras at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Compton, they will welcome Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
